if you want anal over analysis, just tune into tsn for douchebag commentary of pierre mcquire and bob mackenzie. they'll give the charateristics of this being a huge disappointment, colossal failure, an epic diaster, and it could go on.
point is, hockey pundits won't be short of work for a good period of time.
doubtfully any blame will be placed on wayne gretzky. in these parts of the world; actual criticism against #99 would set off a fire storm similar to cartoon drawings depicticting a prophet.

and in the spirit of irony, two canadian athletes captured gold, including cindy klassen who is taking home four medals from these olympics. something no canadian has ever done.
but our sports media will be relentless on the men's hockey team and all other sports suffer as a result. in four years, you won't remember the name cindy klassen but you'll remember dumb penalities by bertuzzi and nash.
